Lori Puntain is a seamstress, specializing in wedding attire, who works out of her house in Byron Center. At the moment, she runs her business by herself, answering every phone call, doing every alteration and ironing every piece herself. Random things found on her ironing board include a tape measure, lace and a special label.
Puntain helps a bride pick out a veil to go with her wedding dress.
Puntain taped a note on her sewing machine to remind her where her priorities are
Sometimes second time brides seek Puntain for a dress. Bonita Westhouse shows her a photo of the dress style she’d like for her June wedding.
While a client is admiring her dress, Puntain is admiring her client.
Her sewing machine is her most important tool.
The upstairs space has a room that houses several second hand and a few never worn wedding dresses that are for sale for the right price.
Surrounded by racks of dresses, Puntain works away in between client visits.
Her cats, all four of them, like to help from time to time. Or, at least, take naps under the dresses.
Puntain works through her pile of ironing. It's the middle of a typical day in her upstairs loft area where she works.
