An Irish Blessing



On Tuesday Nov. 2 Bill Stevenson, director of International Programs at John Brown University, came to speak to Cornerstone students. Stevenson talked about his struggles growing up. As a child, he lived in Belfast,Ireland. His father was a member of an Irish terrorist group and hated Christianity. Stevenson became a Christian at age six, and began to face greater difficulties with his father. At one point his father threatened to break his(stevenson's) legs if he mentioned Christ. Later Stevenson's mother came to know Christ, but then faced marraige difficulties with her husband. Because both her and Stevenson acted as examples, the father also became a Christian.

grew up in Belfast, Ireland under a family associated with the gangs of Ireland. He spoke on his journies living with a father who hated christianity,and how he later witnessed his father's salvation.
